Minister of Industry Holds Virtual Meeting with Saudi Commercial Attachés Abroad
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef held a virtual meeting with several of the Kingdom’s commercial attachés abroad to discuss opportunities to enhance the access of Saudi non-oil exports to global markets and highlight promising investment opportunities in the industry and mining sectors. Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) Acting Governor Mohammed Al-Abduljabbar participated in the meeting.
The meeting highlighted the role of GAFT in developing Saudi Arabia’s economic and investment relations. It also highlighted the role of commercial attachés abroad and the Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) in boosting non-oil exports to global markets. This supports national economic diversification and advances the Kingdom’s development
The meeting reviewed key investment opportunities in the industry and mining sectors and the incentives and enablers offered by the Kingdom to attract foreign investment. It also discussed efforts to facilitate investors’ journeys and integrated work with relevant entities to address challenges facing Saudi exporters. This aligns with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy.
The meeting commended the Cabinet’s approval of canceling the financial levy imposed on expatriate labor in licensed industrial establishments. It said the move will strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi industry, grow non-oil exports, and ease their access to global markets.
Saudi non-oil exports posted a record performance in the first half of 2025, reaching SAR307 billion, and expanded their reach to 180 countries.
