The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing welcomed a delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for a field visit to the Al-Fursan Destination project by the National Housing Company in Riyadh, aiming to allow the delegation to learn about the Kingdom's experience in smart urban development and sustainable housing. Al-Fursan Destination recently won first place in the GCC Housing Award for the best sustainable housing project.
The GCC delegation was briefed on the destination's key components, development phases, and its use of modern urban and technological solutions. These solutions are designed to enhance the quality of life and support efficient urban planning in alignment with sustainability standards.
The project is considered a leading national model for integrating modern urban planning, smart infrastructure, and sustainable building technologies, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve quality of life and promote balanced urban development.
Al-Fursan Destination project is massive in scope, spanning an area of more than 35 million square meters. This development includes over 50,000 residential units, designed to accommodate 257,000 people. Furthermore, the project fosters a significant economic impact, with 11.4% of the total area allocated for commercial and investment activities, an initiative expected to strongly stimulate the local economy and generate new job opportunities while maintaining a crucial balance among residential, service, and environmental uses.
