Arab League Condemns Occupation Decision to Convert West Bank Lands into ‘State Land’
The Arab League strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s decision to convert lands in the West Bank into what it referred to as “state land,” describing it as a dangerous escalatory step and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
In a statement, the Arab League stressed that the decision is null and void and aims to impose new realities on the ground in preparation for the annexation of occupied Palestinian territories, thereby entrenching illegal settlement policies and undermining prospects for achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
It underscored that all measures aimed at altering the legal and historical status quo of the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, are invalid and have no legal effect, warning of the repercussions of such policies on security and stability in the region.
The Arab League reiterated its firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
