Najran University Obtains U.S. Patent for AI Medical System

Najran University has obtained a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an innovative medical AI system that provides an advanced method for assessing and monitoring patients’ levels of consciousness.

 Designed for comatose patients, the system utilizes AI and computer vision to evaluate eye movements, sensory responses, and audio reactions. It automatically analyzes these indicators and accurately correlates them with the Glasgow Coma Scale, providing real-time assessments of a patient’s neurological state.

 This breakthrough represents a significant advancement in intensive care and neurological diagnostics. The system enables continuous patient monitoring and can automatically trigger alerts if a decline in consciousness is detected—facilitating timely medical intervention and improving patient outcomes.
