Minister Alswaha Meets Global Tech Leaders at Davos to Advance AI, Cloud Partnerships
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha held a series of meetings with senior executives from leading global technology companies on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The discussions focused on expanding partnerships in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, network technologies, and digital innovation, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for technology and AI.
Alswaha met with Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith to discuss advancing strategic partnerships in AI and cloud computing and enabling a technology- and AI-driven economy.
The minister held talks with Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent and CEO of Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG) Dowson Tong
on expanding collaboration in cloud computing and AI, fostering technological innovation, and building digital capabilities.
In a separate meeting with Cisco Chair and Chief Executive Officer Chuck Robbins, Alswaha discussed network technology solutions and ways to accelerate innovation across digital infrastructure.
To attract further investment in cloud computing and advanced technologies, the minister spoke with President and CEO of Amazon Andy Jassy and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Chief Executive Officer Matt Garman about the progress and prospects of their strategic partnership in AI and cloud services, as well as initiatives to empower entrepreneurs.
Extending Saudi Arabia’s push into generative AI, the minister met with Cohere CEO Aidan Gomez to explore the development of large language models (LLMs) and their applications to boost productivity and enable technological innovation.
Alswaha met with Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Blackstone Stephen Schwarzman to discuss diverse investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia across technology, infrastructure, and data centers.
To further strengthen global partnerships with creative technology leaders, the minister met with CEO of Sony Group Hiroki Totoki to explore expanded cooperation in digital technologies, AI, and the creative content industry.
