AlUla Trail Race: Thousands of Runners Explore Ancient Landscapes

The AlUla Trail Race 2026 officially launched yesterday, drawing a diverse field of international and local runners to the Kingdom's premier heritage destination. The event cements AlUla's position as a global hub for endurance sports, offering participants a unique opportunity to race through ancient sandstone wonders and historic sites.
The 2026 program features six categories designed for all skill levels, ranging from the elite 100 km ultra-marathon starting in the Old Town to a formidable 50 km marathon through diverse desert terrain. Participants can also explore the region's landmarks via the 23 km Elephant Rock and 10 km AlUla Oasis heritage trails, while community-focused events include a scenic 3 km Sunset Run for ages 13 and above and a 1.6 km Kids Run for children aged five to 12.
The first day concluded with vibrant community activities and the children's events, while today's schedule focuses on the flagship endurance distances. The competition will culminate in a closing ceremony at the Race Village in the Old Town Amphitheater to crown the winners and distribute finisher medals.
