Saudi Women Lead Morocco's Makkah Route Efforts to Ease Pilgrims' Hajj Journey
Saudi women professionals from the Ministry of Interior are playing a key role in the Makkah Route Initiative in the Kingdom of Morocco, helping streamline the Hajj journey for pilgrims departing from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, as part of Saudi Arabia's broader commitment to facilitating the pilgrimage from departure to arrival in Makkah and Madinah.
Personnel from the General Directorate of Passports highlighted their participation in the initiative as a unique professional experience that underscores the growing role of Saudi women in serving Hajj pilgrims. They noted that the Makkah Route Initiative represents a comprehensive model for simplifying procedures and facilitating travel.
The human interaction involved in assisting pilgrims through the various stages of completing procedures was described as deeply impactful, reflecting the Kingdom's values of care and respect for its guests. Team members also expressed pride in contributing to this distinctive initiative, which highlights a spirit of cooperation and readiness, while emphasizing the vital role of Saudi women in serving pilgrims.
The Makkah Route Initiative, led by the Ministry of Interior as part of the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, aims to provide high-quality services beginning in the pilgrims' country of departure. These services include the electronic issuance of Hajj visas, completion of passport procedures, and the coding and sorting of luggage based on transportation and accommodation arrangements within the Kingdom. Upon arrival, pilgrims are directly transported by bus to their accommodations in Makkah or Madinah, with competent authorities managing the efficient and orderly delivery of their luggage.
