TDF Launches Three Programs to Empower Tourism Entrepreneurs, Startups

The Tourism Development Fund (TDF) – the national enabler of Saudi Arabia's tourism sector – announced the launch of three key programs aimed at supporting and empowering entrepreneurs and startups. The programs include the "Grow Tourism Incubator," "Tourism Hackathons & Bootcamps," and the "Grow Tourism Accelerator," all delivered through TDF Grow, the fund's non-financial enablement arm.

The launch embodies TDF's ongoing commitment to its strategy of staying close to entrepreneurs and investors in the tourism sector by offering integrated programs that contribute to the development of a vibrant and sustainable tourism ecosystem.

"At TDF, we continue our efforts to empower entrepreneurs to launch their ideas and turn them into promising, real-world projects," TDF Chief Executive Qusai bin Abdullah Al-Fakhri said of the announcement. "We are keen to provide a comprehensive support ecosystem that meets the needs of businesses at all stages, helping them overcome challenges and accelerate implementation. The three programs we launched reflect our commitment to practical enablement built on guidance, support, and connectivity with relevant stakeholders to build a sustainable tourism sector full of opportunities, aligned with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030."

The launch of the Grow Tourism Incubator marks the first edition of the program, targeting early-stage tourism startups. Registration opened on June 24 and runs until July 17. The incubator offers a comprehensive 10-month environment, enabling participants to benefit from shared workspaces and legal, marketing, logistical, technical, and administrative support. It also includes workshops, specialized training sessions, and mentoring by a group of experts, delivered both virtually and in person at TDF headquarters, ensuring accessibility for entrepreneurs across all regions of the Kingdom.

To support individuals with early-stage tourism ideas and projects, the Tourism Hackathons & Bootcamps Program targets three key regions: Asir, Al-Ahsa, and Madinah. The five-month program begins with hackathons and ends with intensive bootcamps that help participants develop their ideas into actionable prototypes. It offers an interactive environment that combines mentorship, training, and technical support, and provides direct opportunities to engage with investors and enablers, contributing to the development of innovative tourism projects at the regional level. Registration opened on July 1 and will remain open until July 22.

The Grow Tourism Accelerator returns in a new edition, following the success of previous rounds, which graduated 99 participants. The intensive three-month development program focuses on supporting startups and enabling their expansion within the tourism sector. It also attracts international companies, enriching the investment landscape and raising the quality of services in the industry. The program offers integrated mentorship services, concluding with graduation and investor connections.

Notably, TDF Grow has empowered more than 8,800 beneficiaries through non-financial programs and initiatives targeting entrepreneurs, startups, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). These efforts aim to accelerate project development and connect businesses with promising opportunities, enhancing the sector's competitiveness and expanding its sustainable economic and social impact across the Kingdom.
