5.1-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Western Türkiye
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir province in western Türkiye early this week. According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, the tremor originated at a depth of 11 kilometers.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that specialized teams have been deployed to the area for field investigations.
While assessments are ongoing, authorities report no casualties or significant damage at this stage.
