Makkah Route Initiative and Malaysia: A Journey from Launch to Landmark Success
The Makkah Route Initiative was launched in 2017, with Malaysia as the first country to benefit from its services. Since then, the initiative has been offering high-quality support to pilgrims traveling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
Malaysia witnessed the departure of the initiative's first beneficiary to the Kingdom, marking a historic moment. This year, the initiative achieved a significant milestone with the number of beneficiaries surpassing one million, underscoring its growing success and impact.
The Makkah Route Initiative is currently implemented across 11 international airports in seven countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Morocco, Türkiye, and Côte d'Ivoire.
