
Education Minister, Singaporean Counterpart Discuss Cooperation
Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan held a meeting with Singapore's Minister of Education Desmond Lee during his official visit to the Republic of Singapore.
The two officials discussed opportunities for fostering academic partnerships between Saudi and Singaporean universities, focusing on curriculum development to align with the demands of the knowledge economy. They also explored the establishment of joint research centers in fields such as AI, clean energy, and cybersecurity, while encouraging collaboration among researchers to jointly apply for scholarships.
They addressed potential cooperation between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and its Singaporean counterparts to share best practices in aligning technical education with labor market needs.
Furthermore, the two ministers discussed the creation of joint vocational training programs in strategic sectors like logistics, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies, and reviewed opportunities for knowledge exchange in digital transformation and the integration of AI in education.
Al-Benyan also engaged with university officials in Singapore to discuss ways to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise between higher education institutions, and leverage Singaporean universities for training and development opportunities.
He highlighted the promising investment prospects in Saudi Arabia's public and private university education sectors through the "Invest Saudi" platform, encouraging Singaporean educational institutions to consider investing in the Kingdom.
