KSrelief Team Joins Donor Delegation in Visit to Maternal, Child Health Project in Tajikistan
A team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Tuesday participated in a donor delegation from the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF) on a field visit to a project supporting maternal, newborn, and child health services in Tajikistan’s Khatlon Province as part of its contribution to LLF projects under the Islamic Development Bank.
The delegation, accompanied by the deputy prime minister, the minister of health, and representatives of partner organizations in the fund, visited the upgraded health center in Khatlon. They inspected the new medical equipment and patient wards, where improvements have raised antenatal care coverage from 50% to 70% and supported more than 1,500 safe deliveries.
The delegation also participated in a conference in Dushanbe, attended by Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan Waleed Alreshaidan. The conference brought together government leaders, fund partners, development actors, and technical experts to celebrate achievements, exchange lessons learned, and outline next steps to accelerate progress on maternal, newborn, and child health priorities.
KSrelief Assistant Supervisor-General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz stressed the center's appreciation for the opportunity to cooperate with partners and the government of Tajikistan, noting that this project stands as proof that collaboration leads to positive change and improves the lives of mothers, newborns, and children.
