The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), presented its experience in building a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem and its efforts in establishing effective national and international partnerships to harness AI's potential in support of sustainable development and to generate societal and economic impact.

This presentation took place during the third Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, organized by UNESCO in the Thai capital, Bangkok, from June 24 to 27, 2025.

During his participation in a high-level session at the forum, CEO of the Strategy Management Office at SDAIA Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairi highlighted the Kingdom’s pioneering role in building an inclusive and forward-looking AI ecosystem. He emphasized that the Kingdom’s approach is rooted in aligning technological investments with national development priorities outlined in Saudi Vision 2030 and in addressing the developmental needs of society.

Al-Khodairi affirmed that Saudi Arabia, through SDAIA, has prioritized the expansion of local and international partnerships to support the accelerated and responsible adoption of AI technologies. He noted that the Kingdom’s experience is built on strong collaboration between government entities, the private sector, and academic institutions, and is guided by the adoption of a national framework for AI ethics that promotes transparency and ensures the safe, inclusive use of emerging technologies.

He added that the Kingdom’s advanced digital infrastructure has played a key role in achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enabling the full potential of AI technologies. Moreover, he underscored that institutional, technical, and human capacity development has been essential in transitioning AI initiatives from pilot stages to impactful applications in public policy and service delivery.
