
Saudi, Chinese Ministers Hold Talks on Strategic Water and Agriculture Cooperation
Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley, on an official visit to China, held separate meetings with Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Jun and Minister of Water Resources Li Guoying.
The talks focused on prospects for cooperation in water and agriculture and on strengthening the strategic partnership to support sustainable development goals, expand trade, and exchange expertise and modern technologies.
Specifically, Alfadley met with Han Jun to discuss agricultural cooperation, food security, the use of modern technologies, and the adoption of advanced agricultural systems, including closed greenhouse systems and intensive farming that meet high standards and international specifications.
In his meeting with Li Guoying, Alfadley discussed water scarcity challenges and explored joint projects. He also reviewed Saudi Arabia's plans to launch dam projects with the involvement of Chinese companies and to benefit from China’s dam-building expertise.
