Camel and Livestock Herds Begin Grazing at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Natural Reserve

The second phase of the grazing season at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Natural Reserve began yesterday and is scheduled to run until January 31, 2026. Herds of camels and livestock started entering the designated grazing areas within the reserve, excluding specific restricted sites.

The entry process is managed through an organized mechanism that involves scheduled permits and specific routes, ensuring smooth access and maintaining the health of the ecosystem. The reserve authority stated that this phase builds on previous successes, which have helped raise environmental awareness among the local community and develop grazing practices that meet environmental standards.

The season's organization relies on accurate scientific studies to identify the most suitable grazing areas based on the natural cycle of the pastures. This initiative is pioneering, striking a crucial balance between environmental protection and the preservation of local heritage associated with pastoral practices. It directly contributes to achieving the environmental sustainability goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by ensuring the continuity of vegetation cover and preserving natural resources for future generations.
