Saudi National Shipping Company, IMI Unveil First Saudi-Made Commercial Vessels

The “Bahri” National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia, a leading provider of shipping and logistics services, announced the signing of its first order for six dry bulk carriers with the International Maritime Industries (IMI).

This milestone marks the launch of the Kingdom’s first large-scale shipbuilding project, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to developing an integrated, globally competitive maritime ecosystem in line with the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030 goals and in support of the Saudi Inc. initiative, which seeks to strengthen collaboration among major Saudi companies and localize supply chains.

The new carriers will be built at the state-of-the-art shipyard of IMI in Ras Al-Khair, the most advanced maritime facility in the Middle East and North Africa.

The agreement underscores Bahri’s commitment to advancing the Kingdom’s maritime industry, supporting the national economy, and contributing to the establishment of a new supply-chain ecosystem to enhance Saudi Arabia’s global trade competitiveness.
