Municipalities Ministry Urges Food and Public Health Workers to Obtain Health Certificates

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing emphasized the importance of workers in food and public health activities obtaining health certificates, citing their key role in promoting and protecting public health, enhancing compliance with health and municipal regulations, protecting consumers, and reducing health risks associated with service and food-related activities.

The health certificate is a basic requirement for employees working in food establishments or businesses related to public health. These include a range of activities and professions, such as restaurants, cafés, bakeries, food retail outlets, barbershops, women's beauty salons, laundries, and wellness and body care centers.

The health certificates are issued electronically through the Balady platform and application, with applications submitted by the worker or the establishment's representative. Applicants must then complete the required procedures to verify the profession, business license, and licensed activity in accordance with approved regulations.

The ministry added that health certificates are valid for one year from the date of issuance and may be renewed up to 60 days before expiration. It encouraged workers and business owners to benefit from the digital services available through the Balady platform and application to complete health certificate issuance and renewal procedures conveniently and efficiently.
