Final Stages of New Kaaba Kiswa Completed in Makkah
The final stages of producing the new Kaaba Kiswa have been completed at the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Kiswa in Makkah, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s dedication to the two holy mosques through advanced technology and skilled craftsmanship.
Head of the department for assembling and sewing the Kaaba Kiswa Salah Al-Sulami said the process begins with preparing a white cotton inner lining for all four sides of the Kaaba, which is then joined to embroidered silk panels featuring Islamic inscriptions and motifs.
Each silk panel measures about 14 meters by one meter and is precisely assembled into the full Kiswa using advanced sewing systems. This stage is carried out using one of the largest sewing machines employed in producing the Kaaba Kiswa, making it among the longest of its kind in the world. It features advanced laser-based control systems that precisely guide the needle and thread paths during stitching, ensuring exceptional accuracy and alignment. This allows the Kiswa’s components to be assembled with the highest level of precision and consistency, resulting in a finished product that meets the finest standards of quality and craftsmanship befitting this distinguished Islamic work.
