Taiz Governor Praises KSrelief Efforts in Supporting Humanitarian Sectors
Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan praised the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in supporting various humanitarian sectors that have contributed to alleviating the suffering of residents in the governorate.
His remarks came during a field visit to review progress on drilling three water wells in Wadi Aman in the Al-Dabab area, as part of a project to sustainably enhance safe, clean water sources for residents of Taiz City, funded by KSrelief. During the visit, he reviewed the project's technical components and implementation phases.
The governor listened to a briefing from project officials on the production capacity of the three wells, which is estimated at approximately 50 cubic meters per hour. The wells are expected to strengthen the water supply system and help meet the city's growing water needs.
He stressed the importance of this vital project, noting that it represents a qualitative addition to the water sector in the governorate and will help improve the quality of basic services provided to residents.
The project includes drilling three artesian wells, each with an average depth of 400 meters, equipping them with pumping units and technical accessories, and supplying them with integrated solar power systems to ensure continuous operation and reduce reliance on petroleum derivatives. It also includes the supply, installation, and operation of solar energy systems for three existing wells to enhance their efficiency.
In addition, the project provides training for technical staff of the Taiz Local Water and Sanitation Corporation on the management, operation, and maintenance of water systems to ensure service sustainability. It also includes community awareness campaigns on the rational use of water and on protecting water sources from pollution.
The program comes within the framework of the humanitarian and development efforts carried out by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to improve water services and enhance living conditions for beneficiaries in Yemen.
