
Madinah Reaccredited as WHO Healthy City: A Vision 2030 Milestone
Madinah has been reaccredited by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a healthy city for the second time, solidifying its position as the second-largest healthy city in the Middle East after meeting an impressive 80 points of the WHO's stringent criteria.
Madinah Region Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz received the accreditation certificate from Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel during a ceremony attended by Madinah Region Mayor and Al Madinah Region Development Authority CEO Fahad Albulihshi.
Prince Salman stated that Madinah's renewed accreditation as a healthy city exemplifies the Saudi leadership's dedication to people-centric development and enhancing quality of life across the Kingdom's urban centers.
He also emphasized Madinah's ongoing urban and health transformation journey, positioning the city as a leading development model regionally and internationally, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals.
Madinah's accreditation contributes to the Kingdom's remarkable growth in WHO-accredited healthy cities, totaling 16 by 2025. This expansion underscores an unwavering national commitment to promoting preventive health, improving quality of life, and solidifying the Kingdom's leadership in sustainable, healthy urban development through seamless inter-authority collaboration.
