Wiqayah Robot Communicates with Pilgrims in 97 Languages to Support Health Awareness During Hajj
The health system has employed smart technologies to serve pilgrims through the “Wiqayah Robot,” which helps provide guidance and health awareness to pilgrims in more than 97 languages, in a step aimed at delivering health messages to different nationalities and cultures during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
The initiative is part of innovation efforts to enhance the quality of healthcare services, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030.
The robot provides pilgrims with around-the-clock awareness and guidance, including information on preventing heat stress and injuries, guidance on maintaining public health while performing Hajj rituals, and promotion of proper health practices.
The robots have been deployed across key locations, including the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque in Madinah, the train station in Makkah, and the pilgrims’ terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
