Local Content, Government Procurement Authority Launches Updated Local Content Coordination Council Strategy

The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority announced the launch of the updated strategy of the Local Content Coordination Council. The strategy extends over the next five years and aims to reinforce the council’s role as a national umbrella bringing together leading companies and relevant government entities to advance local content development.
The updated strategy seeks to enhance integration between the public and private sectors and develop effective policies that contribute to raising awareness and strengthening the national economy. It also expands participation to include vital sectors such as oil and gas, electricity, chemicals, mining, real estate, telecommunications and technology, transport, and utilities.
The update aligns with ongoing economic transformations and efforts to enhance the efficiency of the local content ecosystem. It includes defining a forward-looking vision, setting objectives and performance indicators, and launching initiatives to support the council’s strategic goals.
It also features an enhanced governance structure through the addition of specialized committees focusing on four key pillars: improving policy effectiveness, developing supply chains, raising awareness, and building capabilities.
The updated strategy emphasizes broad sectoral representation and strengthens collaboration between member companies, state-owned enterprises, and private sector firms to support the national economy.
