Over 1.2 Million Arrive for Umrah Since Start of Season

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced more than 1.2 million pilgrims have entered the Kingdom to perform Umrah since the start of the season on Dhu Al-Hijjah 15 through the end of Muharram 30, arriving from 109 countries.

The ministry noted a 30% increase in the number of Umrah performers entering the Kingdom on Umrah visas compared to the same period last year. Additionally, there was a 27% rise in the number of Umrah visas issued, and more than 4,200 contracts were signed between Umrah companies and external agents, enhancing the operational readiness to welcome pilgrims.

The ministry had earlier announced the start of the Umrah season on Dhu Al-Hijjah 14, 1446 AH, with visas being issued via the Nusuk platform, marking a new phase of facilities for pilgrims and continuing the Kingdom’s development journey in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The ministry stated that the growing demand for Umrah comes after a successful Hajj season which was marked by integrated performance, improved procedures, and the development of technical infrastructure. It pointed out that preparations for the new season began early in coordination with relevant entities to ensure smooth processes.

The ministry also expanded awareness content and digital services in multiple languages, reflecting the Kingdom’s leadership in serving visitors to the two holy mosques and ensuring the highest levels of comfort, safety, and satisfaction for worshippers.
