Education Ministry Participates in 'GREAT FUTURES' Summit in London, Highlights UK Partnership

The Ministry of Education participated in the closing conference of the “GREAT FUTURES” initiative, launched under the Saudi Arabia-UK Strategic Partnership Council. The initiative was first introduced last year in Riyadh.

The education sector topped the list of signed agreements between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, accounting for 13 out of 38 partnerships and agreements across various fields.

Assistant Minister for Private Education and Investment Iyad Al-Garawi led the ministry's delegation at the conference. He presented key partnership objectives with the UK side in areas including education, skills development, and shared priority sectors, notably innovation in education. He also highlighted investment opportunities in education, training, and research, along with plans to expand British schools and universities in Saudi Arabia, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.

During a workshop on innovation in education, held as part of the conference, Al-Garawi spotlighted Vision 2030's education-related goals and outlined the Kingdom’s journey in investing in human capital. He introduced the audience to the evolution of education from traditional classrooms to future-ready learning labs, and discussed digital transformation, the integration of generative AI into curricula, teacher empowerment, and student inspiration. He also emphasized the role of the private sector in driving investment in education.

The "GREAT FUTURES" initiative aims to build robust Saudi-UK partnerships across both government and private sectors in key economic and developmental fields that support Vision 2030, while promoting mutual trade and investment growth.
