Environment Ministry Revitalizes 393 Al-Baha Farms to Boost Agricultural Output

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s Al-Baha branch recently re-plowed 858,263 square meters across 393 farms in just 10 days to revitalize agricultural terraces in the villages of Daws and Barahrah, north of Al-Mandaq Governorate, and enhance food security.
Branch Director General Eng. Fahd Al-Zahrani noted that the initiative surpassed its target due to the cooperation of residents and various governmental and private entities. He emphasized the branch's commitment to environmental protection, aiming to reduce forest and farm fires by clearing dry weeds, encouraging farmers to resume agricultural activities, and improving soil quality for the upcoming season.
Al-Mandaq Governorate, located northwest of Al-Baha, is an agricultural province rich in natural resources with significant tourism potential. It is known for its diverse crops, including pomegranates, grapes, berries, prickly pear, and coffee. The area features rural farms, cabins, natural parks, and fertile valleys.
