Northern Borders Chamber of Commerce Holds Handicrafts Workshop for Women

The Northern Borders Chamber of Commerce yesterday held a specialized training workshop in handicrafts for female artisans, coinciding with the Kingdom's declaration of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts.

The three-day workshop teaches participants the fundamentals of handweaving, from preparing wool to using tools and producing artistic pieces. It also aims to merge traditional crafts with modern materials like fabric, leather, and wood to meet current market demands.

Northern Borders Region is known for the diversity of its traditional handicrafts, including sadu weaving, spinning, and tent-making. This makes it an ideal environment for developing the sector, especially as more women show interest in handicrafts as a means of economic empowerment.
