SDRPY and World Bank Discuss Yemen Aid
Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) Supervisor-General Ambassador Mohammed Al Jabir met with a World Bank delegation led by Regional Director for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti Stephane Gimbert. The meeting, part of a two-day series of meetings held in Riyadh, was attended by World Bank Group Country Manager for Yemen Dina Abu-Ghaida and SDRPY and World Bank staff.
It focused on enhancing development cooperation and reviewing progress on joint projects in Yemen, including the "lifeline project" aimed at supporting the country's transportation sector. Discussions also covered new potential areas for collaboration to improve daily life for the Yemeni people.
SDRPY, in partnership with the World Bank, is currently undertaking road expansion and rehabilitation projects as part of the "lifeline project." These efforts are designed to boost infrastructure efficiency, improve accessibility, and foster social cohesion, while also creating jobs and stimulating economic activity.
Overall, SDRPY has implemented 265 projects across eight key sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, enhancing and strengthening government capabilities, and development programs.
