Moroccan Pilgrim Naima Nadim: I Prayed for 25 Years That My First Flight Would Be to Perform Hajj

With eyes brimming with emotion and a voice trembling with gratitude, 60-year-old Moroccan pilgrim Naima Nadim shared the story of a prayer she carried in her heart for a quarter of a century—that her very first flight in life would take her to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

“Whenever I saw planes in the sky, I would raise my hands and pray, ‘O Allah, let my first flight be to Makkah, just to perform Hajj,’” said Naima, moments before departing from Mohammed V International Airport alongside her 66-year-old husband, Abdulaziz. Today, her long-awaited dream has finally come true, as she embarks on the journey to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam, overwhelmed with joy and reverence.

Naima expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and smooth procedures provided at the “Makkah Route” initiative terminal at the airport. “Everything was organized with kindness. Smiles never left the faces of the staff—it felt like they were sharing in my joy,” she said.

In heartfelt words, she added, “You are the kindest people, and the Kingdom is the greatest country.” She affirmed that this experience would remain forever etched in her memory, and that her prayers would always include everyone who helped make her Hajj journey possible.
