Health Ministry Launches 'Biotech Accelerator' Program to Promote Innovation at BIO 2025
Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih launched the Ministry of Health’s “Biotech Accelerator” program for biotechnology startups, in partnership with BioLabs, at the 2025 BIO International Convention in Boston, United States. The program aims to promote innovation, foster global partnerships, and empower Saudi companies to enhance the quality of healthcare services.
The program aligns with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the National Biotechnology Strategy—initiatives under Saudi Vision 2030 that aim to build a vibrant society and prosperous economy, while strengthening the Kingdom's position on the global map of health innovation.
The program is the first of its kind for biotechnology in the Kingdom and marks the first BioLabs collaboration in the Middle East. Spanning seven months, it will offer training, support tracks, and access to research laboratories for startups.
