Diriyah Season: Prince Mishari Palace Opens as a Gateway to Saudi History

Located in the heart of the At-Turaif District, Prince Mishari bin Saud Palace stands as a testament to the birth of the Saudi State. Built in the 18th century (12th century AH), it was the residence of Prince Mishari, who supported his brother, Imam Mohammad bin Saud, during the pivotal founding of the state in 1727. Visitors to the Hal Al-Qusoor program within Diriyah Season 25/26 are taken on an immersive journey through the prince’s life—from his childhood to his heroic military campaigns to secure the region and defend Diriyah against invaders.

The palace is a masterpiece of traditional Najdi architecture, constructed from sustainable local materials including mud bricks, clay, stone, and tamarisk wood. Its design features a flexible layout centered around a spacious courtyard that provides natural ventilation and light to the surrounding rooms.

The palace is fortified with two imposing towers, while its four gates and dual-story structure offer panoramic views in all directions, blending functional living with military strength.

As a highlight of Diriyah Season 25/26, the palace serves as a bridge between Saudi Arabia’s heritage and its ambitious future. By combining world-class shows with ancient historical sites, the season allows global visitors to explore Diriyah’s role as the Kingdom’s original administrative and cultural center.
